I just purchased and installed Office 2003 on a
standalone (not networked) computer. I had Outlook 2000
on my old computer and wanted to import my old mailbox,
contacts, etc. So I saved the .pst files onto a CD and
then tried to use the "Open" command in Outlook 2003 to
import them in. For all of the files (mailbox, archives,
contacts), I got an error message: FILE ACCESS IS DENIED.
YOU DO NOT HAVE THE PERMISSION TO ACCESS THE FILE
D:\[FILE NAME].PST.
There's no way that any permission were ever set up for
these files as I'm the only one who has ever used either
computer and either version of Outlook. How do I correct
this?
