Cannot open Movie Maker

I've played with movie maker in the past, but now am unable to open the
program. I'm getting the "Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and
needs to close" error asking me to send an error report to Microsoft (which I
have).

I've looked to see if I can re-install but there doesn't seem to be a way of
doing this. Any suggestions on how I can get the program to work?

im having the same problem however mine opens but lasts no longer than 5
minutes befor crashing and closes it. I have also sent many error reports.
