cannot open microsoft word2000

everytime i try to open word and error message comes up
saying microsoft word for windows has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience. can you help?
 
do a repair from the cd or if you have office installed do a detect and
repair from another office program
