HELP!

Where did you create the new folder? What kind of files were dragged to the
folder? Could you open these files before they were moved?

I created the new folder in Windows Explorer. I dragged
and drop 2 PageMaker 7.0 files and some .tif files. Now
I cannot access the files. I was able to open the files
before I moved the files to the new folder.

Please help!

This is a puzzler. The folder should be no problem. If the files, were
"owned" by another account, XP permissions would not have let you drag them
to another location. So I don't think you're dealing with an XP permissions
or security policy.

Is it possible that PageMaker has a lock on the files? Word, for example,
lets a user "lock" a file against unauthorized changes. Unlocking the file
involves using a password. And Word can be used to remove the lock
entirely.

Another thought ... if you dragged the files from a CD or DVD to the hard
drive, they may still have the read only attribute. Right click on the
files and select Properties. If there is a check in the Read Only box,
click to remove it.
