I have an excel document that an admin uploaded to our
extranet. All users except one can click on the document
icon and view the excel .xls file in the browser window.

However, for the CEO the page will not display.

All the IE versions are the same, security patches are the
same and the security settings are the same.

I have reviewed the MS knowledgebase and none of the
support issues that were remotely similar to this problem
have helped. I have even tried disabling the Browse in
Same Window option and that did not help.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions in resolving this
problem.

Thanks

Robetr

I have tried both methods.
I can not get any excel file that is out on internet to
open in the browser or outside the browser.

Excel works fine for any local file on his system or our
network.

Hi,
I think you want to enable "Browse in the same window."

How about:
162059 - How to Configure Internet Explorer to Open Office Documents in the
Appropriate Office Program Instead of in IE
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb; [LN];162059
But you'll want to do the opposite. ;-)
