cannot open email attachments

Since upgrading to Outlook Express version 6.0 (and
installing Norton AntiVirus) I have received emails with
attachments from 2 people i know, from whom I was
expecting these emails, and when I try to open the
attachments, they cannot be opened or saved. When I
double-click the attachment Icon in the inbox list, there
is a line stating "OE removed access to the following
unsafe attachments in you mail". Can anyone explain to me
why this is happenning and what I can do about it?

Many different files such as mdbs and others can contain code that might
damage your system. Your best method for handling this is to have your
senders zip the files prior to sending. You could also set your security
options lower but I wouldn't recommend it.
