I tried stretching the screen and then closing but the screen always opens a
little bit too short for full page maximization. Could somone please help me
with this. I have xp and am using cable modem. Would reinstalling the
comcast software do any good? TIA

Hi,

1. Open a link.
2. Don't use the maximize button.
3. Stretch the edges/corners so that the window fills the screen.
4. Close all other IE windows.
5. Close the stretched window last.

However, the above procedure is not equivalent to SHOWMAXIMIZED API call.
Best option is to use "IE New Window maximizer"

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=1746
(Uses Windows API calls and automatically maximizes every browser window you
open)
