I am unable to open attachments for microsoft documents (word, excel,
powerpoint, etc) directly from any IE program (gmail, hotmail, or ms
outlook on the web). Typically you can click on 'download file' and a
pop-up will appear asking if you would like to in fact download the
file, or open it. My dialog box only gives me the option to 'Save' or
'Cancel', forcing me to download the file to view it.

My computer is fairly new and I am assuming I received a pop-up asking
me some security questions and whether I would like to apply these
settings going forward and I checked yes. Now I have no idea what I
did or how to change the security settings to allow me to view
documents in the web.

Any ideas??

Try pressing the Shift key while you are clicking on the link. It
allows popups for the major popup blockers.

I receive a dialog (pop-up) but it only has 'Save' or 'Cancel' as an
option. Usually it has 'Open', 'Save', or 'Cancel'.
