cannot obtain domain controller name

I keep getting the following application error about every
week or few days.....

Source: Userenv
Event ID: 1000
Message:
Windows cannot obtain the domain controller name for your
computer network. Return value (2146).

This locks up my server and I am forced to do a hard
reboot or wait about 45 minutes for it to log on. This
machine is my DC. It is also my print server.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello Dan.

How is your DNS Configuration at the clients? are the only server listed
holding the AD zone? That should be the case.

dan

i think that I am a little slow here. I didn't quite
understand what you wrote. DNS is DHCP on the clients. I
have DNS zones on our DC and another DC at another site.

AD is depend on DNS, ensure name resolution work with the AD domain name.
