I cannot open multiple windows of IE6

I have SP2 and automatic updates set up so I'm pretty sure I'm all up to
date;however, when using a window, if I try to open a second window or click
on a link that automatically uses a second window, the previous window will
automatically close and I will lose where I was. Can anyone help?

Hi BuckNKD :-)

First, Yahoo installations have been known to cause this problem. If you
have Yahoo toolbar disable it, or if you have Yahoo Companion uninstall it.

If you have any popup blocker programs, disable them and try again.

and...

Go to Tools>Internet Options> Advanced tab
UNcheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts"
Click Apply
Close IE and reopen then see if the problem still exists

or....

To keep more than one browser window open at a time, click File in the main
menu, select New, then Window. To close a browser window, click the X in the
top right-hand corner or select Close from the File menu. You can also open
a new browser window with Ctrl+N.

check to see if a Yahoo toolbar has been installed on your computer. I did
not install it myself but when I checked the add/remove programs under the
settings control panel on the start menu I found that the Yahool toolbar had
been added. Once removed all worked fine again.

Go to "Start"
"Settings"
"Control Panel",
"Add/Remove Programs"
scroll down and look for Yahoo or Yahoo toolbar, click on that and then
click remove at the bottom of the window.

Hope this helps!
