I try to use ADMT to migrate user rights and security from
Windows NT 4.0 server to Windows 2000 Advanced Server. How
can I move files and folders structure from source domain
(WinNT) to target domain (Win2000) and restore user rights
and security on this structure. I read in ADMT help and
all related documents but can not find this information.
Please advise if any of you have done it sucessfully.

Many thanks

ADMT isn't going to migrate files and folders. The utility you need is
called RoboCopy. It is included in the Windows NT/2000/2003 resource kits.
You should be able to grab it from www.microsoft.com/reskit.

Thanks for kind support. However, after using Robocopy to
transfer files, folders and security, the old security of
old domain (NT) is retained within new Active Directory.
Therefore user of new domain still not be able to access
resources correctly. Pls advise

You'll have to recreate the ACLs if you didn't use SID History (or renamed
the Domain, I suspect).

.
Brian,

Does xcopy with the /E and the /O switch accomplish this?
The /E switch would copy the directory and subdirectory (
includng empty ones ) and the /O switch copies ownership
and ACL information...
