Hi--

Please help.

Here's the situation.

I need to do the following.

(There are 2 machines-- a Win2000 Pro machine and a WinXP Pro machine.)

(1). On the WinXP Pro machine, a drive needs to be mapped to the Win2000
Pro
machine.

(2). On the Win2000 Pro machine, a drive needs to be mapped to the WinXP
Pro
machine.

Of these, (1) is done and works fine.

Unfortunately, (2) is not done. When it is attempted, the Win2000 Pro
machine keeps asking for the username and password. I have given it
everything. It does not even work if the Administrator credentials are
used.

Note-- On the WinXP Pro machine, the sharing properties for the C drive is
set to "checked" for "Share this folder on the network and "checked" for
"Allow network users to change my files".

Note-- There are identical local accounts set up on each machine.

Note-- The error message returned is "incorrect password or unknown user
name for '\\mkamoski03\c$'". That the prompt comes up tells me that the
Win2000 Pro machine can FIND the WinXP Pro machine. It seems that the
credentials cannot be passed properly. Perhaps?

Note-- The text entered in the "Map Network Drive" dialog is
\\mkamoski03\c$.

Note-- I have tried entering each of the following for the username value--
mkamoski, Administrator, mkamoski03\mkamoski, mkamoski03\Administrator.

Note-- Both machines are members of the same network BUT each one is
logged-in with a different account.

Do you have any suggestions here?

Please advise.

Thank you.
