Cannot Logon to Computer When I Restart Or Startup!

When I start-up or re-start my computer, I get a message that says my user
name or password is incorrect.

QUESTION: How can I solve this problem? Presently, if I click on the error
message, then the computer goes into its start-up mode. I would like to
avoid having this error message appear and not have to click on it to
re-start or start-up the computer.

I am a 78-year old retired businessman who has used a computer for seven
years, but I have no formal technical training. Therefore, please give me
explicit, step-by-step instructions.

I appreciate your help and patience with my lack of knowledge and experience
troubleshooting computer problems.

Do you have you Cap Lock key on - the password is case sensitive.
