HI,

I'm runnig with a strange situation on one of my server
where i cannot authenticate to the server using UPN. I
have to use the Domain\user format to login. The server
is runnig windows 2000 server standard version. I know
this is related to my Kerberos authentication, but i'm
not able to figure out why kerberos is not working on
this server. All the network ports for successfull
authentication is open to my domain controller because
i'm able to telnet to my DC on port 88 from the server
and i have full connectivity between this server and my
AD DC. Any idea?

Thanks

Run netdiag [on install cd in support/tools - run setup] on that server looking
for any failed tests that may help pinpoint the problem and check that it's time
is in the correct time zone and in sych with the domain controller. I am not
sure if this is pertinent to your problem, but check that the global catalog
server is running and properly configured. Also check the user account
properties for UPN name unless the problem is isolate to this one domain
computer. --- Steve
