I have XP pro.
I cannot log off using Start/Log Off
The same story with Start/Disconnect

Any help?

What happens when you try?
Do you get any errors? Is there anything in the event
log?

Kostan,

Out of curiosity, do you have an ATI Radeon video card with a more recent
version of the Catalyst Drivers installed? I ask, because I am having the
same problem as you (I think). I can disconnect from an RDP session, but I
cannot logoff, reboot or shutdown normally. I have found that if I hold
down the Ctrl key when clicking "logoff" on the Windows logoff confirmation
dialog box, I can logoff (the logoff is forced apparently). Same is also
true for shutdown/reboot, just as long as the Ctrl key is held down. All of
this started when I installed the ATI Catalyst 3.5 drivers. I have since
moved to the Catalyst 3.6 drivers, but the RDP issue is still there with
these new drivers. The RDP issue may have nothing to do with the ATI
drivers, but I think it to be a likely culprit.

I'm interested to see your reply to this.

Yes,

I have Radeon 7500 with driver from ATI Technologies,
file version 6.14.10.6360.

But I have other PC with XP pro and the same adapter
and it is working just fine.

The difference is my XP is upgrade from NT 4.0.

Thanks for the reply. Interesting about your other XP box with ATI Radeon.
Is it using the same drivers? Looking at your driver version, I believe you
have the Catalyst 3.5 drivers, which is the version I was running when I
first saw this RDP logoff/restart issue (the Catalyst 3.4 worked fine). It
would be interesting to know what the driver version is on your XP box that
is working properly.

I have the same problem and I too have the Catalyst 3.6 drivers
installed for a Radeon 9700. Holding down the CTRL key solves the
problem for me too. Thanks!
