New to computers, it sttes that I do not have acess to necessary file
'msvcp80.dll' for the following "states reinstall
C:|windows\system32\icardagt.exe and C:\program
files\adobe\reader\reader8.0\reader\acrord32.exe. but on programs it states
that i have Adobe Reader. and its telling me that I need a CD-ROM to re-start
my System Restore, but none exists. Any one that can help me I would be very
gratefull. As I stated I am new to computers and my mind is slow. using
Windows XP, service Pack 2.

i did a search on the file icardagt.exe
and found this:

http://cardspace.netfx3.com/content/introduction.aspx

the common denominator for the above
with adobe reader is that they both have
something to do with "digital signatures"

as the error message states, you should
reinstall the cardspace program that will
likely overwrite adobe's code, that is if
the issue you have is a conflict between
the two programs.

however, my primary suggestion would
be to uninstall/remove adobe reader. In
my experience and opinion it is not a
desirable program to have although
pdf readers are absolutely necessary
for the web.

after uninstalling adobe then run
these registry cleaners:

http://onecare.live.com/site/en-US/article/registry_cleaner_why.htm

http://www.eusing.com/free_registry_cleaner/registry_cleaner.htm and

run the one care first since it will likely
make a backup of your registry first. then
run eusing afterwards.

the above will remove any orphan keys from the
registry that will be left behind by adobe reader
and that may continue to inflict your system.

-------------

fortunately there are other pdf readers
the foxit reader for reading pdf's
and primo pdf for creating them.

i have the full version of adobe
but regularly use the foxit and primo
freewares instead.

-------------

in conclusion i don't have any experience with cardspace.
however, in the past, it use to be that digital
signature programs were paid services & subscriptions.

therefore, i do not know the state of
your cardspace program on your system
or if you really need it or if maybe it was
a trial that expired and should be uninstalled.

hopefully the issues you are experiencing may
simply be resolved by removing a conflicting
program and cleaning up the registry.
