Hallo all,

I had to restart my DNS-Server on WIN2000. After that I found an entry in
eventlog (DNS)
Sorry if it's diffcult to understand, I have to translate the errormessage
from german (displayed) to english and don't know wether I match the exact
message as it is given on an english installation.

Could not load entry "server-ip".in-addr.arpa in zone "." into directory. Use
DNS-console to restore this entry. Ensure that active directory is
functioning ok

eventdata: (byte) 7b 00 00 00

Is there anybody who can help me to fix that?
I have already deleted and reentered the DNS-Entry für the servername with
update of the related PTR-entry.

Thanks
Hartmut

What the error appears to be saying is that you have a Root zone that is AD
integrated and it is unable to create the reverse lookup in the zone.
Normally, if your DNS needs to resolve internet names you would delete the
Root zone. You can delegate the root zone if you want to be in full control
of what DNS will resolve.

Hello Kevin,

I deleted that zone and the problem is gone. Additionally now my other problem
to acces internet via DSL-Router is gone too. Before I had to have this
router as 1st DNS, now all works fine

Thank you very much.
