Cannot join another domain controller

I have 1 remote office connected via vpn to our main
office. Our main office is running W2K and i want to
deply another server in our remote office and connect as
another domain controller to our main office DC.
Everytime I do dcpromo and gives me error message:

The domain cannot be contacted. ensure that the DNS is
typed correctly. this condition maybe caused by DNS
lookup problem. If this domain was recently created, its
name may not be registered with the domain naming service.

I already configured my local DNS long time ago and seems
to be working fine bec I can register the host name of
the server that I want to join in the DNS.

I visited this link and tried to follow the procedure but

If that doesn't work and you have a firewall between the
vpn and your main office, you may need to open some ports
