Cannot Install I.E. 6

when I try to install I.E. 6 on my laptop it comes up with
a message stating that it is not compatible with XP. Any
ideas

Thanks Henri, I had the same problem and, in my case, you
had the right answer, i.e. I needed to uninstall a Windows
Hotfix previous to installing IE6 SP1. I appreciate your
posting that answer.
