Im experiencing the Windows Logo error and the option to Continue
anyways isnt there. I tried installing it straight from the microsoft
site and tried from my hardrive but both the same result. I read the
thread http://groups.google.ca/groups? q=directx+9+software+not+passed+windows+logo+testi<br%20/>ng&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&safe=off&selm=e0NJDYCPDHA.1608%40TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl&rnum=2
and the last poster suggests renaming Catroot2... i dont know what
i should rename it too, but out of curiosity i tried and renamed it to
Catroot1 , and a Catroot was automatically remade, so do i need to
replace a file? This is for a game Im trying to install, i have
DirectX 8 atm i think and it requires 9. Any help is appreciated

Hi Steve
In system32 you should have two folders to start with called Catroot and
Catroot2, when you renamed catroot2 was a new 'catroot2' item created? After
you renamed the folder did you attempt to run DirectX setup?

yes it automatically created another copy, and right after I deleted
it , I tried installing and it didn't work because of the new copy.
But I turned on the Cryptographic services through My computer
services... and it installed after that. thanks for your reply on the
other topic ;)
