Hi,
I upgraded my home machine from Windows 2000 to XP Pro earlier this
week. Since then, I've been unable to reinstall my Canon S530D printer.
I've done the following:
1. Complete uninstall of drivers/software.
2. Printers>Server Properties> removal of all driver instances.
No matter what I do, however, when I try to add the printer manually
using the latest XP drivers from the Canon website or use the program
supplied by Canon to install the printer, I end up with the message
'system cannot find the file specified'. I've checked the setupapi.log
file to see WHICH file it can't find, but that information isn't there.
Has anyone else had this problem? It's driving me crazy!!
thanks in advance,
roah
