I had the same problem with my lexmark earlier today
1. Is the print spooler started? (Control Panel - Administrative Tools -
Services)
if it isn't (try to start it, righ click)*
if it won't start
2. right click on the service name and choose properties and click on
dependencies and see if it is dependes on anything other than Remote
Procedure Call (RPC).
If it does look for another service.
3. look for that service name and see if that one is started.
if it's not.
4. right click and look under the tab general and look at path to
executable.
it will say something like 'C:\WINNT\system32\<filename>.exe' make sure that
this file does exist.
if it doesn't
5. reply to this group and I can tell you how I did remove it (change some
registry settings), not sure it's the right way but it works fine for me.
