Cannot import dbx files

I have done a brand new install of vista and made a backup of my dbx files.
Now i see that windows mail works with *.eml files. How can i get my old
mails in windows mail?

I've been exerpiencing the same problem as the original poster of the
problem. I followed the direcitons on the link you provided and was able to
get my inbox, sent, deleted and draft folders to export to windows mail -
however - there are about 20 personal folders that didn't come over - all
have a .dbx extension. Any ideas? Thanks!

Sorry, but the info in the article is all I have.

Maybe...and believe me I'm just *guessing*
....it may help if you open Windows Mail and
create the Folders you need and then try to
import the files.

On my new Vista computer I used "Windows Easy Transfer" to transfer all my
old computer data including OE. It transfered everything which was in OE
store including my own created folders and there included .dbx files and also
settings such as Mail rules. I have used over the network method of transfer.
It was fairly painless and you can customise it so that you do not transfer
everything if you do not wish to.
 
Same here. I have used Windows Easy Transfer on two different PCs.
Two comments. It won't let you save the data to a hard drive, which is a
nuisance when you want to transfer settings from one partition to another
partition on the same computer. Also, if you use the Custom setting, it
hides Windows Mail/OE under the obscure heading "Communications
and Sync". But it works well otherwise.
