I recently tried to go to a local TV stations website, www.kcbd.com. I have
been on this site many times, not recently however. I enter the url and see
IE searching for it. Then I am back on my desktop with no IE displayed, no
errors displayed, in fact nothing indicating any kind of problem shows up at
all. Any ideas?
Using IE6 and have been for ages.

Hi Ed :-)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, but, you might try
the following information and see if it helps:

Try deleting the History and Temporary Internet Files *folders*
for the user account having the problem. See:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

Also, if you have Yahoo Companion, Google toolbar, MSN toolbar, a firewall,
Earthlink (or another pop-up blocker) My IE2 (a shell for IE) etc.
Yahoo Companion is a very common cause.

and...

You might want to refresh your scripting engine:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/nhp/default.asp?contentid=28001169
or
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/downloads/list/webdev.asp
Windows Script 5.6 for Windows 2000 and XP
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...43-7e4b-4622-86eb-95a22b832caa&DisplayLang=en

If refreshing your scripting engine didn't help, you might try reregistering
these two DLLs

Go to Start>Run and enter the two commands below, one at a time, hitting
enter after each one. You should see a message saying they have registerd
successfully.]
regsvr32 vbscript.dll
regsvr32 jscript.dll

Next, reregister (regsvr32) all DLLs listed in the "Resolution" section of
this article:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=281679

It may also be another program that is interfering with the scripting, or
some form of scumware causing the problem.

Check the information here:
http://forum.aumha.org/viewtopic.php?t=4075
Then go to http://www.aumha.org/a/quickfix.htm
Be sure that you perform all the steps required for the preliminary
cleaning, then post a HijackThis log to this forum:
http://forum.aumha.org/viewforum.php?f=30
You will have to register in order to post your log.

If you're *sure* that another program isn't causing this, these links may

Well Jan, I'm afraid that I made you type a whole lot of things to look for
and you nailed it on the first suggestion. I deleted the temporary internet
files and viola, I can now get to the site. Thank you so much.
