Cannot get Vista Enterprise to boot

Hi,

I have deleted all partitions so that my hard disk is clean, then installed
Vista Enterprise on my Compaq nc6120 laptop, but I cannot get it to boot.
It gets to the stage where I think the proper Windows GUI should start, but
I see what I believe is a BSOD for a split second, then the computer just
reboots.
I know that the DVD I'm using is OK because I've used it successfully on
another different make and model of computer.
The "setupapi.app.log" file reports failures on several drivers:
'PCI Simple Communications Controller'
'Video Controller (VGA Compatible)'
'Multimedia Audio Controller'
'Video Controller'
'Network Controller'
They all report Selecting driver failed(0xe0000228) followed by "There are
no compatible drivers for this device".
The Startup Repair tool says it cannot fix the startup problem.
Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, Safe Mode with Command Prompt, and
Last Known Good all result in the same problem.
How can I troubleshoot this further?

Thanks in advance,
D.

P.S. I have successfully installed two previous beta versions of Vista on
this computer.

Definately hardware incompatibility problem. If you're lucky it's firmware
related....check and download the latest firmware for your laptop BIOS and
hope for the best or wait awhile longer for an update from Compaq. Also, do
you think that laptop is going to be supported under Vista? Not sure how
old the NC6120 laptop is.

Ask your IT dept. about your "Enterprise" version of Vista. They should be
able to assist you as they are the ones who issued it to you.

An email to Compaq support may also help. Although I bet you'll get the
standard reply stating how Compaq is working diligently on developing
drivers that will be released around the time Vista goes completely public
in Jan 2007. Until then, try to find a system that is Vista compatible to
test on. I recommend newer Dell systems as they seem to work great right
now.

Hi Jeff,

Have already installed the latest BIOS dated June 2006.
The laptop is about 18 months old and we have about ten more in our company
which will all need upgrading to Vista.
Strange thing is, it's worked fine with two previous releases of Vista
before the actual release was done.
Thanks,
D.

I guess it may hinge on just where you got this enterprise version from!

Call your Microsoft rep for a replacement.
