This is a tough one!
My new G4 PowerBook is set to DHCP for Ethernet and we are
running Win2k and Active Directory. All I need at this
point is to get an IP address from the DCHP server.
However, when I plug in the Ethernet cable, I get one of
those self-assigned 169... numbers that don't work. I
even tried using an IT supplied static IP and still it
doesn't work even though our IT person was able to ping my
laptop.
Tried entering in our 3 DNS server IP address in the
optional DNS box and still, no address.
I did connect to a router outside our firewall it worked
perfectly, but inside our firewall, it doesn't work. I
have tried this at with several network drops that have
been certified to be fully functional.
If someone has any ideas - it would be greatly appreciated
and make my day - not to mention clear the way for more
Macs in our all PC environment (except for mine).
