I had 3 emails to forward but could only forward 2. The last one all I get is
a clear box and if I double click, I get a black box. Now windows mail will
not let me forward anything. Why would it stop working all of a sudden? I
tried turning my Virus protection off,but that didn't work. It has worked
fine for months. Thanks

Make sure you are not using incompatible third party security
software. Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee
or Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, NOT just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see

Thanks, Gary, for the info. I have 2 questions though. Why aftermonths, is
this happening now and is there another anti-virus besides Avast that I can
use? I had Avast on my last computer and I was not impressed with the
protection. The guy that owns the computer shop here says that McAfee is the
best. Is that why it is incompatible? It works too well? Thanks

McAfee and Norton are the worst, followed by the newest Trend Micro. Your
computer shop guy is wrong.

Avast works perfectly well if it is installed without email scanning.

Thanks for the help. This Vista is so hard to figure out. But I guess when I
changed from 98 to XP I said the same thing. Anyway, again, thanks for the
help.

Of the non-free antivirus products, Nod32 and Kaspersky are best.
McAfee is somewhere in the middle, but it is so intrusive that it
causes corruption problems. I've never heard of anyone getting a
virus who used Avast.

I've used AVG for years and years and I've never ever gotten a virus. It's
simple to use and it's free of course. The other free one's mentioned I
would try if AVG didn't work for me.

A lot of the time though people just don't update their AV software. I've
had a few people say they didn't know they had to update it, they just
thought that once it was installed that meant they were safe.

Anyway, just my little ol' opinion. =)

Nicole.
