Hello i am runnung windows xp my isp is Tiscali broadband, antivirus is
Pc-cillan, i am the computer administrator but sometimes when i try and get
onto the net i get a message cannot find server, but if i click on the
refresh or home button i can get online ok. All the other users of this
computer never have this problem, i have rang Tiscali a few times regarding
this but to no avail, they have now told me that the problem is a fault with
microsoft. Microsoft tell me that there is no problem with this product.
Can any one advise me how i can solve this problem i have tried all sorts of
things.
I even thought by disabling my personal firewall that this might help but, no.

It's quite possible you have a Winsock2 problem. Usually it won't let your
browser find a page at all. Seems to be common to broadband users. My fix is
to delete every instance of it from the Registry and reboot. But I use Win98
and if you do a Google search for winsock2 troubles many pages will come up
with all sorts of things attributed to it. There is a fix on M$ site that
basically tells you what I mentioned, delete it from Registry. I think it's
one of those files that replaces itself on the reboot... never had any
trouble after deleting it.
