cannot find server

no matter what I put in on the address bar I get "cannot
find server". Winipcfg shows all IP's as normal. I
released and refreshed the IP's and it all works fine.
Under dos I can ping IP addresses but not named url's.
Internet explorer will not connect anywhere. I have re-
installed Windows Me and deleted and added back my
network card.

Anyone know what is happening to me?
 
Are you running a firewall like Zonelabs ZoneAlarm?

This happened to me once before using it. I had to hunt
around in the firewall software a bit, and found that the
program had set itself to 'highest level security' and
was blocking ALL ACCESS to web sites.

Simply changing the security level to 'moderate' cured
the problem.
