Starting a few days ago I have been unable to access www.jconline.com which
is our local newspaper online. I thought their site was down but am able to
access it from the office.
This sort of rings a bell with me as it may have happened to me a couple of
years ago. Usually I put these solutions in my "how to" folder but there is
nothing there.
Also in the past few days I have deleted offline file content but can't
recall if it was before or after not being able to access the page.
Running Win/XP SP2
This link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/884488/en-us addresses the issue
but the only recommended solution was to configure Windows firewall to
enable HTTP traffic. My Windows firewall is disabled so that didn't seem
like an option. But I tried it anyway (also enabling HTTPS traffic.) Still
unable to access site so set the parameters back to not enabled.
The address is IN my Internet Options Security Trusted Sites and NOT in
Internet Security Restricted Sites.
Has anyone experienced this before? And if so, do you recall the solution?
Thank you for your consideration.
