I`ve just installed a router connecting a windows me and a xp pro pc to my
cable modem
the xp pc has no problems connecting through the router to the net, and i
can ping
the router from the windows me pc and ping a web site on the net but i can`t
can`t get a page downloaded or check my e-mails.
ms messenger says error:" you are behind a firewall or have no rights to
access
the internet, or there`s a problem with the Http proxy" .
ie explorer just says page cannot be displayed and Cannot find server or DNS
Error
what does this mean?.
I believe the problem is on the ie explorer 6.0 itself , is there anyway I
can
reset the network and registry settings
because I think the problem is in some hidden settings that are not as they
should be, I could only ping the router from the problem pc
after I changed the registry settings of ip enable router and ip routing to
enabled
also I would like to check/change the registry settings for the network and
proxy's do you know what the addresses
are?.
Any ideas on this problem
Thanks
