I have a home network which connects a Windows 95 PC and a
Windows 98SE PC via a Linksys WRT54G Wireless Cable/DSN
router. These 2 PCs are connected to the router via
ethernet cable. Everything works fine between these 2
PCs. I am able to share devices and connect to the
internet.
I just bought a new notebook PC (Windows XP Home Edition)
with built-in 54G wireless capabilities. I set up the
wireless parameters in my router and my new notebook is
able to connect to the internet without problems. I
thought to myself "boy, this is neat, everything went so
smoothly". I then attempted to add the notebook to my LAN
so as to use the printers on my other 2 PCs. I then went
through the "Network Setup Wizard" for my Wireless network
connection and chose the "This computer connects to the
internet through another computer on my network or through
a residential gateway" option. I entered a PC name and
workgroup name. The workgroup name is the same workgroup
that my other 2 PCs are in. The wizard completed but I am
not able to see my other PCs in "My Network Places".
One thing I noticed. The workgroup name on my 2 older Pcs
is in upper and lower case. On my notebook it only goes
in as upper case. It won't let me enter the workgroup
name in both upper and lower case. Is this a problem?
Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
