cannot find notepad.exe

Dear Sirs:

When downloading a document, email, etc. I save it to the
appropriate file. However, when I try to access it later,
I get the message "cannot find notepad.exe." How do I
correct this problem

Two options... Right click the problem file, then click "Open with..." The
dialog box has a list of all programs available; select one of the word
processing ones.

Or, highlight the file, then go to File>properties. Its dialog box has
provision to change the program that opens the file by default. I don't use
this-yet-but suspect this is a more permanent setting.
