Cannot find file message

The following message appears on my screen when I turn on my computer:
"cannot find 'file:///c:/kernel32.html'. Make sure the path or Internet
address is correct.

I don't know what that file is or what it does and I do not know how to find
the path or address tocorrect it.

When I delete it about the same time I am getting pop ups on my screen and
my IE home page changes. Are they connected in any way/

Any help will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Get Spybot Search and Destroy or Adaware from www.cnet.com set it to run on
restart so it catches these malware items before they start running.
