whoops

I made a HUGE mistake yesterday. I deleted a VITAL query
in ACCESS. I checked the recycle bin and it is not
there! Can I restore it? Where can I find it? HELP! I
can lose my job over this as I have lost VERY IMPORTANT
information. Any advice just might save my job.

Whoops,

Just import it in from your backup copy of the database.

Did you delete the Query object, or the data in the tables underlying
the query? Do you have any printouts of the SQL, or documentation of
the query structure? Could you just recreate the Query in other words?

As suggested... you really should have a backup. If you don't you're
skating on thin ice: Access databases can become irreversibly corrupt
and you could lose EVERYTHING. Deleted objects are gone, gone, gone.
They're not in the recycle bin because the recycle bin contains
deleted Windows disk files, and a query is not a separate file; it's
embedded within the Access .mdb file.

I deleted the query object. However, I did have a backup
and was able to import the query back! Many thanks for
your suggestions/assistance.

Congratulations. Isn't that a good feeling... "Whew! It *was* there on
the backup... and it works!"

Doesn't make up for that miserable feeling of panic despair, maybe,
but a good feeling nonetheless...

Now excuse me, I'll need to start my backup program...!
