if i am reading your problem correctly, you cannot browse
to the c:winnt\ folder, the solution to this is to go any
explorer window and click tools\options you will then
recieve a dialog box. click on the view tab and
uncheck "Hide System Files" and check "Show Hidden Files
and Folders". hit apply and the "Like Current Folder"
button. attempt to access the directory again.
IMPORTANT leaving your systems this way is a security
nightmare. users can easily screw up stuff they don't
mean to mess with, so after you have taken care of this
issue, restore the folder options to their previous state
