this fix is for "games" so when you get to "accessories"
stop there.........
=======================================
Might need your Windows XP setup CD-ROM when doing this.
----------------------------------------
Follow this path:
Press [start] button
1. Open Control Panel
2. Open Add or Remove Programs
3. Press Add/Remove Windows Components (left column
button)
4. [x] Accessories and Utilities (Hilite & Press
[Details])
5. [x] Games (highlight & Press [Details] button)
6. Make desired changes...
7. Press [OK] (out of Games)
8. Press [OK] (out of Accessories)
9. Press [NEXT ->] (Windows Components Wizard opens)
10. Configuring Components window appears
11. Components Wizard window
12. Press [Finish] button
-----------------------
Post back and let us know if this works...

This did not work at first. The games were checked but
did not show in my programs list. I downloaded the
updated Direct X from the Microsoft website. I restarted
my machine and follow the directions again without
success. Finally, I went through the directions,
unchecked the games and closed the application. I re-
opened the application, rechecked games, and closed the
application by Pressing finish. The games were updated
and I am now in the middle of Spider Solitare. I am not
sure what happened.
-----------------------------------------------
worked perfectly I had to use the cd

I uninstalled then reinstalled all. Worked great. Thanks

To those out there much more knowledgeable than me
(that's most everybody).
My system went down while I was installing an update and
only part of the update "took". When I tried to reboot I
got error messages about missing certain DLL's. Finally
had to reinstall Windows XP. Now when I go to the Start
Menu, I can no longer find "Accessories" (with
Calculator, Notepad, Paintbrush, etc).
How do I get it back?
Thanks
