Cannot eject CD-ROM

Whenever I leave a CD-ROM in the CD drive for a length of time (for example:
if I leave my Microsoft Streets and Trips CD-ROM in the CD drive overnight),
when I try to eject the CD-ROM, the CD tray will not open. I have tried
troubleshooting, but I still have not found a solution. I would like to know
how to fix this problem.

Try this...

Open My Computer | Right click your drive | Click Eject.

Or try this...

Straighten a paper clip, push the straight end into
the little (I mean small) hole on the front of the CD drive, there
will be a bit of resistance. Keep your hand out of the way. You
might consider doing this one with the computer turned OFF.

Don't leave it in over night. Many pc's do this, and a quick reboot will get you to eject it. If i leave a movie or any cd in over night or long time, it does this. Even in my older pcs with 98 or ME. I never found out why and i have searched. Unless someone on here knows, it remains a mystery. My best guess would be a tasty cd that the pc loves and won't spit out or a gliche in the mem that occurs after so long that the drive becomes unresponsive. duh.
