I am trying to "right click" on a name to edit the hyperlink in FP 2003.
I can do it most of the time, but sometimes the the "hyperlink properties"
choice at the bottom of menu is not available. I try to highlight a portion
of the name & sometimes the hyperlink is available & I try to do a few
letters at a time until I get the whole line. But sometimes I cant get it no
matter what I do. What can prevent the "hyperlink" option not to show up on
"right Click" ?

Barry,

You didn't state what version you are using. I will assume that you are
using FrontPage 2003 and are trying to edit a hyperlink on your hard drive
before publishing. If so, simply select the word, or words, that you wish to
be the hyperlink and then on the keyboard Ctrl+K... Insert the URL in the
dialog box that opens.

I mentioned FP 2003 on 1st line.
I have been using the method you describe all along.
It usually works that way.
But sometimes for no apparent reason It will not allow me to edit or change
a hyperlink using the method you describe. I try Control K & right click & it
will not give me the "Hyperlink properties" on the drop down menu as it
normally did in the past. But It will work on the next link. Makes no sense.

Try this:
Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner ( with
Expression Web Designer and SharePoint Designer support )
Download links are at the bottom of the page.
Run the functions that clear:
The Hidden Temporary files.
The Hidden Cache (*.web) files.

See if it helps.

Do you also have a problem if you select the "Hyperlink" icon from the
toolbar instead of right clicking, if not perhaps this could be your
workaround.

After I highlight my Word & I select "insert" the Hyperlink option is greyed
out.
The page is http://www.beamalarm.com/Travel.htm
I am working on "National Park Tour" in the middle of the page.
I am changing all my "photo Galleries to "JAlbum" and I am trying to change
the links to the new pages.

When I have had this problem I have deleted the particular word and
reinserted, then found that the option was available.
I do not know if this is the correct procedure but it has worked for me.

Thank You, that was it.
Sometimes I get tunnelvision trying to figure out why instead of getting a
blinding flash of the obvious solution.
I forgot that is how I handled it in the past since there is no real
explanation of why it happens intermittantly.
Thanks again

Your welcome, glad it worked for you
