When i try to download a program I get an hourglass momentarily and then
nothing. Sometimes i get a message
"C:\DOCUME~1\ALFRAE~1\LOCALS~1\TEMP\opqhtkj4 could not be saved because
source file could not be read" Is there a corrupted file and where
would I find it and correct it?

Mike, is this a specific program or all programs?

I tried to update Zone Alarm and also tried to download several other
programs, same result. However I was able to upgrade Windows XP.

Are you closing the web page during the download? If so then it's
probably because you've got your browser set to delete temporary files
when the browser is closed... Internet Explorer >> Tools >> Internet
Options >> Advanced >> scroll right down the list to 'Empty temporary
internet files when browser is closed' and take the tick out of the
box. The second method is don't close the page until the download has
completed.
