I'm running XP Professional. For the previous few days I have not been able
to download or open files (such as WMV or PPS) from my ISP webmail site. I
have tried many fixes and websites. In Windows Media Player, two types of
error come up 'C00D11C0' & 'C00D1199'. The fixes for these do not work.
Another error is 'Internet Explorer cannot download this file. An internal
error occurred in the Microsoft Internet Extensions'.
Can anyone assist here? Thanks

Thanks. I have previously asked them about my modem/connection but will try
them again.

Only thing that comes to mind is to clear temporary internet files. Is it
only those files types or any attachment.

Neil - I've been off line for a few days (IE wouldn't work after restore). At
this stage it's only WMV / PPS. Originally thought it was WMP 11 issue. Tried
to uninstall WMP11 but the previous WMP program has gone? WMP11 does work. I
have done two system restores back to February (could not get IE7 to connect
or work properly) then April. Tried to install IE8 but this won't start.
Reinstalled IE7 but the original issue remains.
Still comes up with the "....error occurred in the Microsoft Internet
Extensions' error & 'C00D11C0'. This used to work.

Did you uninstall IE 8 before reinstalling IE 7? If not, you must use
"System Restore" to the point either before th "newish" IE 7 install
or even better, IE 8. Installing IE 7 with IE 8 still installed will
cause problems (I experienced it!!!)

Yes, I uninstalled IE8 and also completed a restore.
The original issue was not being able to download files from my webmail
site. This was happily working until recently.

IE 8 has some "display" problems with web sites not "coded" to the
"revised" HTML that IE 8 can "read." You might be able to fix this
when you using Compatibility modes.

I have not really tried but I can open and run files but most of these are
'you tube' type video files. It seems confined to my webmail.
