cannot download mails

I am getting this error

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: 'Scintilla 1', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3,
Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
 
Your settings look ok.
It may be your antivirus program interfering. Try disabling it briefly and
try to get your email.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled.
 
I have uninstalled Norton and put avast instead, even then its not possible
to download emails
 
The account may have been corrupted by Norton. Delete the
account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate that account.

Are you using any other third party security software such as
anti-spyware?
