cannot download IE6sp1

When I try to download sp1 an error message saying "setup was unable to download information about available installation sites" appears. Anyone know how to rectify this please? I will be grateful for your help.

Go to the IE web site and order the CD - costs $5.

yes i've tried windows update the same thing happens, I know I can buy the cd but I want to know why this is happening.

A common problem for WU users is not having a Language Preference
specified. This could be causing your symptom. To check yours
from IE, press Alt-T,O,Alt-L and use the resulting dialog.

If that doesn't help try using the Windows Update Troubleshooter
