I'm having trouble downloading Microsoft Defender and Instant Search from the
Microsoft website. Here's the specifics with "Defender":
- I verify my program
- I click to download (on page
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...0+p/7agodLWIgQZaO4mrr0Mn7P2v4HaEBo8V3FizwkQ==)
- A download popup window opens but there is an error in it saying "The page
cannot be displayed"
- The original page thanks me for downloading but says that if the download
didn't take place, that I should "click here". When I do that another window
(http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...TKUrGWqcs3pHFvttuEEgC23XhvxoP4ACWV3YA7HCq7A==)
opens but says "The page cannot be displayed".

This is just one of several programs I've tried to download from the
microsoft site. Please help.

Michael

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
assistance from an expert. **Post your log to

analysis, not here.**

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
