W2k. ADSL. IE6 Today, just noticed that I cannot download files from SOME
websites. Browsing is fine. Connecting thought my mobile phone works fine.
Just my ADSL won't download from some websites, well, most. Tried Symantec,
WinZip, various at Download.com. My AVG antivirus will update through my
mobile but not through ADSL. My ISP is adamant that it is nothing to do with
them. Where should I look next?

thanks,
Jo

Can you give us some more details about what happens when you try to down
load files from these sites? Do you get an error message of some kind? Can
you post a specific link that gives you a problem?

Tried downloading from several 'big' sites (Symantec, donoad.com,
Winzip). Message is:

Internet Explorer cannor download wzipse22.exe from
download.winzip.com

Internet Explorer was not able toopen the Interent site. The requested
site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try agian later.

I uploaded (ftp) a .exe and a .wav to my own Internet space and can
download the .wav but not the .exe

Also, my AVG antivirus will not update and I cannot get the downloads
manually. In this case, the file extension is .bin

Cannot download when I am in the office (though our ISDN), but CAN
still use Vodafone mobile phone (GPRS). Can also download files to
another pc through the ISDN.

To sum up, can download .wav, but not .exe or .bin. Problem is present
with ISDN (though the LAN) and ADSL (through wirelss router) but no
problem through mobile phone GPRS - some significance here with it
being through a router?

Thanks for you help!

Jo
