Im using Vista home premium with my new dell laptop (UK). For some reson,
mail in my inbox and deleted/junk folder cannot be deleted.
I get an UNKNOWN ERROR message, then this in some of the message planes..

"Message could not be displayed
Windows Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this
message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again."

Ive rebooted the laptop several times, but i still cannot delete these
messages (50+).
I have Mcaffe security centre running too, but have disabled all email
scanning/spam features, as Vista mail seems to do that amyway.

Can anyone help me?

Cheers!

Uninstall McAfee.
Don't install Norton.
Install Avast! - www.avast.com

If they are in the Outbox, get WMUtil from www.oehelp.com

If they are in a different folder try to ignore them.

is this the official response from microsoft? if so, does this mean im
entitled to a full refund on mcafee if its that that causing the problems
with vista?
And is that other link a good enough virus killer/firewall? Any diff from
mcafee?

No. Don't expect a response from Microsoft in this newsgroup.

Avast is a good anti-virus and the Windows Firewall in Vista is plenty good
enough.
