Cannot Display Custom Form

Hi every one, Outlook 2003. About once a day I get this message. The form is published and is the post to default. Why do I get this error. The only way to get it working is the clear the cache in the custom forms dialogue box.

Where is the form published? Are you using public folders, accessed through the Public Folder/Favorites hierarchy?

Hi Sue,

I am a single user and published the form to Personal Form Library. I have your latest book; Outlook Programming and think I understand now from reading page 420. Every time I make a change to the form I should change the Version number so the cache is cleared. It seems to work when I do that. I was publishing the form after I made the changes without changing the form number. Your book it a bit difficult to understand at times but the answers are always there in( sometimes) a thought provoking way. I always look for the easy way, but the book is written to encourage one to think.

Thanks very much for the time you spend on these questions. I have always gone to slipstick for my answers, because they are most likely there.

I've heard it said that changing the version number doesn't cause Outlook to recache the new version, but it always works that way for me. In any case, incrementing the version number makes troubleshooting *much* easier, because it gives you a way of knowing exactly what form Outlook has loaded.

Thanks again, It seems to work for me

On the form I want to show a field as a Lease Number. We use three zeros then three more numbers. The only way I can show the zeros is to put a comma first. example '000980

If it's in the book I will find it but havn't yet.

You'll want to make sure the property is defined as text, not numeric.
