Greetings:

I found that in order to NOT make the mouse wake computer from
standby, one has to open Control Panel and double click the Mouse
Icon. Go to the Hardware
Tab and double click mouse entry there. Click the Power Management
Tab in the dialog box. deselect the "Allow this device to bring the
computer out of standy" option.

However, my problem is that I do not see a "Power Management" tab when
I double click the mouse entry in the Hardware Tab in my Windows XP.
Could anybody tell me why?

Regards,

Shuo Xiang

Either the PC is not ACPI compatible or ACPI is not correctly set up
on the machine.
Possible workaround: enter the CMOS setup (BIOS). Some provide a
setting for to allow/disallow waking the PC with the mouse.

Depends on your mouse. In Control Panel my Logitech mouse only has
settings for pointers, buttons, motion, devices. You should see a
power management setting in control panel \ system \ hardware \ device
manager.
