Cannot Demote DC

I have a corrupted DC in an AD domain. It has been unused and is NOT the
PDC.

When I try to gracefully run dcpromo to demote this DC the process runs
successfullly for several minutes then tells me I don;t have the rights.
None of the Enterprise Admin accounts work.

How do I get this DC out of AD and not a DC so I can shut it down and
reinstall the OS, Server2003.

You can use dcpromo with forcerevmoal switch
