Hi:

I have not been able to delete Shellex.dll file, which is the only file
that I have left in Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.5 and the file is in the Drag
to Disc Folder of Roxio.

I tried removing Roxio with Add/Remove, but apparently is was corrupt and
I had to manually uninstall. However, I cannot finish deleting the Drag to
Disc folder which contains Shellex.dll file. I have tried going into
Safemode and deleting it, but I still get the same Error message saying
"Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and
that file is not currently in use." I tried renaming the file and moving it
to a desktop folder that I created, but I still get the same error message.

I certainly would appreciate if anyone knows how to delete this file.

Thanks

Whenever I have had trouble removing a corrupt program I will reinstall it
first to the same location. Then I do an uninstall. It usually works.

Hi:

I read another website posting with the same problem and he could not
reinstall Roxio due to Shellex.dll problem of not being able to delete it
etc. Therefore I am hesitate at this point to try and reinstall Roxio. Any
other suggestions on how to delete it?

Thanks

1. Check Shell.exe dll properties and unprotect it if necessary.
2. Run/msconfig... check Selective Startup, clean all boxes except Boot.ini
and restart. Navigate to the folder w/ Shell.dll or remove from command
prompt - you need the file location.
3. Google for "XP delete files in use" or such; there are scripts that would
do the job on reboot or such.

Longshot: Unregister the DLL then delete manually (maybe try in safe mode)
From command window navigate to folder dll is in then type this command
regsvr32 /u shellex.dll

Lots of spyware results on this DLL ?

Hi:

I manually edited the Registry to delete all Roxio files, which were a
tremendous amount, and then came back and was able to delete the Roxio
shellex.dll. A hard way, but got it done.

Thanks for all the help from everyone, as I really appreciated it!
